Export and Non-Export Elephant
- Export elephant: the biggest bull we find, starting from 40 lb of ivory.
- Non-export elephant: a bull with up to 22 lb of ivory, or a tuskless bull if we run out of time towards the end of the hunt.

How an Elephant Hunt Works
Finding a Bull
We check roads, riverbeds and waterholes at first light for the large, fresh tracks of a mature bull, then follow them on foot with trackers and a game scout.
Judging the Ivory
Your PH gets close enough to see both tusks clearly before deciding. Length, thickness and how much ivory sits inside the lip all count.
The Shot
Shots are close and shot placement on an elephant is exact. Your PH will walk you through it before the hunt and back you up on the day.
Rifles
Best Calibre for Elephant
Zimbabwe law requires a minimum of .375 for dangerous game, and for elephant most hunters choose a .416 or larger with premium solids.

How long is an elephant hunt?
Our export elephant package is 10 full hunting days and 11 nights. Tracking a mature bull can take several days, so we don't recommend less.
Can I import elephant ivory to my country?
Elephant needs CITES and import permits, and the rules change. Check your own country's current rules before you book. See our trophy export guide.
Can I add buffalo to an elephant hunt?
Yes. An export buffalo is $6,500 and a non-export buffalo $5,500, subject to quota. Book them in advance.
