Impala Hunting in Zimbabwe

The impala is the antelope you'll see every day in the bush, and one of the best first trophies of any African safari. Picking out a truly old ram from a nervous herd is harder than it looks.

The hunt

How We Hunt Impala

Many Eyes

Impala live in herds, and with dozens of animals watching, a stalk is easily spoiled. We use cover and wind carefully to get within range of the ram.

Judging a Ram

A mature ram has long, lyre-shaped horns with thick bases and tips that turn up and in. Your PH will pick him out of the herd for you.
